for orchestra
Carlo Balmelli, Transcription for wind orchestra

Duration ca. 7'
Difficulty 4.5
Item number   SWB06

On February 6, 1813 Rossini’s opera was first performed in two acts in Venice. Although the opera was extremely popular in its early days, they soon disappeared from the opera stages. Only the overture and an aria from it have up to the present time due to acknowledgment. The action revolves in this opera Tancredi, as in many operas of that time, about love, envy, jealousy and revenge. The libretto for Tancredi was based on the eponymous drama by the French writer and philosopher Voltaire (1694 – 1778) and was written by Gaetano Rossi (adaptation).
