Rimsky worked in 1887 on his work “Capriccio on Themes from Spain”, better known under the name Capriccio Espagnol. The composer was often praised for the brilliant treatment of instruments, especially the use of many percussion instruments. Originally the composer wanted to compose the work for solovioline and orchestra, but rejected this idea and wrote a pure orchestral work. The work is subdivided into five sentences, some of which have their own themes, or use the subject of the first sentence in a varied form. Alborada/Variazioni/Alborada/Scena e canto gitano/Fandango
