Biografie Thomas Trachsel

In the year 2000 Thomas Trachsel (1972 *), completed his studies as a band conductor at the College of Music in Bern with great honor. Thereafter he attended a master class with Andreas Spörri. Thomas Trachsel worked as a conductor and guest conductor of various wind orchestras and brass bands as well as a teacher of music theory and music history. In addition, he has worked as an expert in competitions and music festivals. Thomas Trachsel is a freelance composer and wrote, among other things commissioned, works for the Federal Music Festival and the National Youth Brass Band.

The musical language in his work is based on the late romantic tradition, mixed with contemporary elements. His typical style are acting melancholic phrases and themes, large-scale suspense, formidable sound breakouts and also the extremely demanding nature of the orchestration. Thematically it deals mostly with the current problems of mankind, however, the question usually plays after the ‘being’ or ‘not being’ a central role in life. In this context, his Symphonys was created.
