Metamorphosis «Symphony in a Single Movement»

Commissioned by the Swiss Wind Band Association for the 2026 Swiss National Music Festival in Biel.

In the broadest sense, the work Metamorphosis is a continuation of my Fifth Symphony. In this sense, the title refers to an emerging change in my compositional language, which also results from a personal transformation. It remains very important to me that the connection to historical form structures is recognizable, but that motivic/thematic as well as harmonic/contrapunctal development takes center stage.
