The symphonic poem Sheherazade belongs to a series of Rimsky-Korsakov’s symphonic poems. This music is characterized by a particularly colorful instrumentation. Also it is an expression of the enthusiasm of the former Russian econmy for everything that is oriental. Rimsky- Korsakov used in this work as the basis, the story of the “Thousand and One Nights”.
